Winter means Fly Tying - try a Fly Swap

15/11/2009

Having joined Eric at the Sharp Gentles (Spelling?) Fly Tying Club on a Thursday night, I also joined a fly swap hosted at the Fly Fishing Forums.  One night at the Club I knocked up a few Black Bumbles for the Bumble Swap (hosted by Ben Likes to Fish!), added a few more at home, and sent off 11 Black Bumbles to the swap coordinator.  In return, I received 10 bumbles, 1 of my Blacks, and 9 others tied by the other tiers in the swap.  Ben has taken the trouble to photograph all the flies here - so have a look and see what you missed.  So, I hear you ask, why did you send off 11 flies, if you only get 10 back?  Well, we decided to donate a set of flies to Casting for Recovery, a great fishing related charity.  So there!
